About The Jeweler
THE BEGINNING OF THE STORY
In 1969, Bartolo Miranda began his career as an apprentice in Mexico City. In the course of working seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m, he learnt how to make hand-made designs. His two-year apprenticeship ended with him moving to a new shop where he worked on more sophisticated designs.
As a result of his continued development, Bartolo was offered the option to go to the United States in order to further his professional career. In 1973, he moved to California after obtaining his Mexican passport and working visa for the United States of America. Bartolo worked for Manney's Jewelry Creations in Fresno for seven years before relocating to Oklahoma in 1980 to work for Samuel Gordon Jewelry, which he founded.
Having spent three years in Oklahoma, Bartolo decided to establish his own business out of his house in 1983, which he rapidly expanded into a retail location in 1985, allowing him to recruit five other jewelers in the process. His business was located in the same site for ten years before he relocated it to its current location in Oklahoma City, where he was able to expand by hiring two more jewelers and a secretary.
Bartolo resigned in April of 2017 and transferred ownership of the company to his son, Isaac, who will carry on the family tradition. Bartolo has returned to his hometown and is continuing to manufacture jewelry there.
