August 6, 2023 at 1:41 amBrought a watch in to see if it can be repaired. It’s a mechanical piece with a date pointer which was misaligned. I would have accepted “Sorry, I wouldn’t be comfortable working on your piece” or “I don’t know how to fix your watch”. But instead, I got “I don’t touch these because it’s made in China” and “Your watch is fake”.
That’s cute. My watch is a Swiss-made Maurice Lacroix purchased from an authorized dealer and was serviced 6 years ago by a Maurice Lacroix service center. Needless to say, I found his comments disrespectful and condescending.
If you need your watch battery or strap changed, I’m sure he’ll do a good job, as would anyone with a $10 watch repair kit from Amazon. But if you have a mechanical watch, find someplace else.
