December 21, 2021 at 1:04 amI went into the store today. I did not notice the sign on the door that said that masks were mandatory. I was never told that for at least 10 minutes. The very nice girl behind the counter helped me pick out a couple of snowflake bracelets. She was helping for at least 10-15 min before the manager came out and told me masks were mandatory. I did not have one with me since all the other stores in the Village did not require them. I have been vaccinated plus have had the booster. She told me I would have to leave since that policy was put into place apparently today. The bracelets I picked out were still sitting on the counter. I literally had to beg for her to let me purchase them without a mask on. It was humiliating. The manager basically called me a liar She said I was told to put on a mask when I came in the door. I was NEVER told that. The girl that helped me at the counter backed me up on that. Finally I convinced her to let me buy my gifts… which btw I spent over $100. While I was getting rung up which they were having quite a few technical issues.. my back was to the door’ someone else came to the door without a mask. That customer was told to leave since she didn’t have a mask with her… needless to say she was very upset . I never turned around… I was afraid that would make it worse . Now that I got home with my purchase ‘ I feel like my whole experience at your store was super unpleasant at a stressful time. I plan to return my whole purchase ‘ with my mask on of course this time. Worst manager ever! That store probably lost many customers since it is the only store that has a mask mandate. I am a very unhappy customer and will never purchase from Alex and ani again!
