August 2, 2023 at 9:09 pmPinoy’s Jewelry will not fix their mistake in craftsmanship & will refuse service if you kindly ask them to fix it. This was a very simple and inexpensive issue to fix. Instead of helping you, they will say, “You are a difficult customer,” & they will become angry & shout at you so everyone can hear.
On Monday, July 31, 2023, I went to Pinoy’s to purchase a new clasp for my gold necklace because the clasp had broken. The balance I owed for the new clasp was $12.50 and the labor cost to weld was $5.00, $17.50 total. The service was completed and I paid.
After I got home, I checked the weld with a magnifyer because I wanted to make sure the weld was secure. My necklace is very special to me. It was a gift from my wife and my mother-in-law.
At the point where the weld was done there was a hole. The “weld bead” was empty. This means the weld was only held together by a thin shell. If it was done correctly the weld would be solid, like a tiny marble. Instead it was like a soap bubble–empty inside and easy to pop.
I came in to Pinoy’s Jewelry again on August 2, 2023 to ask to have it fixed. I showed them the hole in the weld and they polished it and gave it back. I was very respectful and polite. I asked them to weld it again. That’s when Linda’s mother started yelling at me and telling me I am a difficult customer and to have someone else fix it. I spoke very calmly and said that I was disappointed because I paid to have this repaired at Pinoy’s and I would like Pinoy’s to fix it. She shouted at me and many other jewelers from other kiosks looked up and were watching.
I went to the next jewelry kiosk and explained the issue. They verified they saw the hole and asked $10 to fix it. They fixed it and I paid them $20 because I was happy the issue was resolved. I still don’t understand why Pinoy’s Jewelry became so angry. Beware doing business with Pinoy’s because this may happen to you too.
